Thursday September 30, 2021 - Friday October 1, 2021

8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Studies show that nearly 50% of those with dementia experienced abuse or neglect. Interpersonal violence occurs at higher rates among adults with disabilities. This past year of COVID related issues such as isolation, financial stress, and concerns about health—led to increased depression and anxiety, making older adults and people with disabilities more susceptible to abuse and neglect. The elderly and people with disabilities need our help to be protected now, more than ever before.

Our two-day training addresses the challenges of elder abuse and neglect, including financial exploitation.  Successful case outcomes depend on the investigator having the knowledge and skills to develop a solid legal case. This includes a thorough medical examination, proper diagnosis, a complete and timely investigation, and knowledgeable responses by civil and criminal legal systems. Our training, taught by a faculty of subject matter experts who are board certified or otherwise credentialed in the field, provides these tools.
